Re: CANELO vs THEO
This bout features a generational icon against a rising prodigy. Canelo Álvarez, the decorated Mexican veteran, steps into the ring for what could be one of his final defining fights. Across from him stands Théodore Delagarde, a 25-year-old phenom from Frogne looking to seize the throne and shake up the middleweight division.
Canelo Álvarez
Last fight: Unanimous decision win over Edgar Berlanga (Sept. 14, 2024)
- Controlled tempo, knocked Berlanga down in Round 3
- Scored wide on the cards (117-110, 118-109 x2)
Strengths:
- Elite counterpuncher with impeccable timing
- Iron chin and body-punching master
- Vast experience against top-tier opposition
Concerns:
- Slower footwork, aging reflexes
- May struggle with Theo’s speed and pace
Théo Delagarde
Last fight: Unanimous decision win over Jacob Klopfer (Oct. 10, 2024)
- Pushed a high pace, out-landed Klopfer significantly
- Flashes of raw aggression and dazzling hand speed
Strengths:
- Trigger-happy, fast, and offensively-minded
- Likes to swarm early, take control with sheer volume
- Agile movement, quick feet, and deceptive angles
Concerns:
- Can be reckless on entries—open to counters
- Has never faced someone with Canelo’s experience and composure

Re: CANELO vs THEO
Key Questions Going In
- Can Canelo slow the pace and punish Delagarde’s aggression with counters?
- Will Theo’s youth, speed, and pressure overwhelm Canelo’s aging frame?
- Does Theo have the discipline to avoid walking into a trap against a master tactician?

Re: CANELO vs THEO
Scores: 98-91, 97-92, 98-92
Fight Summary
Walsh Jr. came out looking sharp in the opening round, using his reach and movement to keep Tszyu at a distance. He pumped the jab and circled well, winning the first round on some scorecards. But by Round 3, Tszyu began timing him, walking him down behind a tight guard and punishing the body.
In Round 5, Tszyu landed a devastating left hook to the liver that visibly hurt Walsh, backing him into the ropes. Tszyu poured on pressure, nearly scoring a knockdown, but Walsh managed to clinch and survive the round.
From there, it became one-way traffic. Tszyu’s output, body work, and ability to trap Walsh against the ropes stifled any offense from the Brit. Though Walsh showed grit and flashes of countering ability, he lacked the volume and power to keep Tszyu off him.
Tszyu dominated the final rounds with thudding shots and controlled aggression, while Walsh gamely hung in but never turned the tide.

Re: CANELO vs THEO
Tim Tszyu returns to form after his first two career losses, reminding fans and promoters that he remains a serious contender at 154 lbs. Talks of a potential title eliminator or big-name clash next are heating up.
Liam Walsh Jr. loses his Sethland debut but earns respect for his toughness. Still young, he’ll likely return to the UK circuit for a rebuild fight before challenging again.

Re: CANELO vs THEO
Canelo makes his grand entrance at T-Mobile Arena accompanied by none other than Tito Double P, the rising regional Mexican star known for blending corridos tumbados with hard-edged swagger.
Draped in red and gold, Canelo emerged from the tunnel with Tito Double P performing “Peligro,” a new unreleased anthem written exclusively for Canelo’s entrance. The crowd roared as fireworks lit up the arena and Tito’s deep vocals echoed over a booming brass section.
It was a statement of pride and power, Canelo once again embracing his culture and commanding the moment.
