History
Kaldenbourg was founded by Count Conrad 2 Kalden of Luxembourg, territory of the Holy Roman Empire. Until 1219, the city experienced unprecedented growth from 11,000 to 98,000 inhabitants. The Cathedral of Our Lady of Kaldenbourg was built in 1251, by order of Count Henri 5 Kalden of Luxembourg. In 1558, Kaldenbourg was incorporated into the Spanish Netherlands but remained under the authority of the Germans. In 1668, Kaldenbourg attracted many personalities (musicians, actors or politicians) such as Rameau, Bach, Vivaldi, Molière or even the Sun King (Louis 14 of France). But in 1790, revolutionary France attacked the Holy Roman Empire and took Kaldenbourg, which was considered by Napoleon Bonaparte to be "a historical pearl so precious that it caught the eyes of the French". In 1792, the Belgian departments of France asked for their independence, including Kaldenbourg, and obtained it. In 1914, Kaldenbourg and other border towns were bombarded, causing major damage to the west bank of the Séveste river. The cathedral was hit in the heart and the nave and the town hall, on the other hand, remained intact! The enemies attempted a breakthrough towards Kaldenbourg twice (1915 and 1917) to try to enter Frogne, but these were failures! In 1973, Kaldenbourg needed more population and annexed the suburban towns 5 kilometers from Séveste. The current territory.

History
Borkaszawa was founded by Andrzej Lukaszenski, former governor of a region of Kelden who fled persecution in the country with other citizens, in 1851, before becoming President of the Republic in 1855. Indeed, several immigrants including Eastern Europe had to flee their native regions which are too dangerous and come to Western Europe to find a better life there. Borkaszawa had become in 1857 the first welcoming town for Polish speakers. In 1860, the Orthodox Church of Saint-Lucas was erected in the town centre, renamed the Orthodox Church of Frogne in 1881. In 1879, under the orders of the dictator Hitine, the soldiers set fire to the city, considered a "city of barbarians" according to the tyrant. In 1887, it was the turn of St. Wladyslaw's Cathedral to be built on the Polish Square, renamed Cathedral Square in 1888. However, the Stuttgart Empire was beginning to be dangerous for Western Europe, and the city is only 80 kilometers from the border! In 1901, 20 kilometers from the city, soldiers built the Lukaszenski defensive line there. Then came 1914. The defensive line must now show its effectiveness to the Empire, which wanted to besiege the city. In winter 1915, the imperial soldiers of Stuttgart had to withdraw from the territory. Victory for the soldiers of the Lukaszenski line! Until 1983, the city experienced unprecedented growth. 450,000 inhabitants in 1920, and 1 million in 1990! Today it has become a historical pearl in the country and attracts millions of tourists!
