How to put in bus roads?

I have plenty of roads around my houses and shops , where do you put bus roads in can they go on top of other roads because I don't want to start from scratch all over again my city is really looking great now . Since this update the bus roads have been added now I do not want to delete those roads I just went to all the trouble of putting them in.

Buses still can go on the regular roads.

Place Bus Stop on Bus Road but the bus still go on the regular road for best route.
