Since they give 1 water each, the water view is opened when you build them.
If you lay some dry pipe somewhere, you may build the trees along the pipe and support a small population. Less than the water tower, unless you build 2,000 together.
Don't go changing anything though. Any future trees will also be placed here and the files updated.
