Why is "Chat" in this forum the same as Wechat in China? Does the developer use Wechat?

Yes, but that is unrelated. It just happens to be the icon of the mChat extension that is used for the chat. They use it probably because it's part of Font Awesome icons and can therefore easily be used like that:

Probably not since there's a better version of all my older plugins nowadays. I might release my unfinished plugins and concepts on the forum though
