Question about power usage of dense industrials

I don't know if this is intentional, but dense industrial zone uses ridiculous amounts of energy. I plopped a zone 6x6, and some second after I got a notice that my town is running out of power. Turns out, energy use went from 50% to 100% just from this zone. Isn't this a bit too much?

It's probably not just that zone though. Because of increased jobs in the industrial zone, new or larger commercials and residentials probably came to town also.

Actually there is something weird in just that particular spot there. I reduced the size of the zone to 3x6, and experimented, every time I added a next row to the zone, and a building spawned, the energy output gone through the roof (BTW, that graph does not show that only two or three buildings that spawn, have the same energy usage as WHOLE BIG CITY with thousands of zones).
So I sticked with this reduced zones and built a road there so I know not to touch this "cursed" terrain. Later when I was getting "naturally" low on energy, because of city growth, I wanted to put a coal plant just near this cursed ground. And as soon as I spawned it, again, it crashed energy, instantly cutting half of my city from electricity. I had to cancel that building, and just constructed plants at some other place.
I seriously think there is a bug, and everytime i try tu build anything at that place, it multiplies its energy consumption or something, by over 100 at least. Fortunately I know now not to build there.

Strange.

Never mind that post, see the video further down.

Oh damn, for some reason the graphs don't show on the video. Soo...literally nothing can be seen aside of my adding and removing zones. Sorry about that.

OK sorry about that failed video, but I uploaded it again : here you can clearly see what is going on:

Quite well made video explaining your problem. Thank you.
What is the percentage output of your gas power plants?
Have you trying increasing their output with the performance circular icon?

This first happened when I had one gas plant , 4 wind farms and 1 solar. Non of them was "overcharged". Only after energy demand skyrocketed I added a bit more power to my first gas plant and immidetly added second one. Output now is around 60%.

I upladed city for you to download and debug it.

Ah, I'll let my plugins loose on it.

I played your map on my phone with no plugins and got the same results you did. With the gas plants at 200% output, their usage went from the 30% range to the 60% range. A thing to remember is a power plant doesnt pass through power while it is building. (The coal plant you mentioned.)
