Question about copyright

#1

Post by FVI »

Hello!
I took a sample of colors from some images I found in internet. Can I do that? What if I have to give credits?
Thanks!

So no?
Short answer: no, you're fine.

Some colors are trademarked (surprisingly). However, the context is more important than the color itself (e.g. using a trademarked brand color for your competing brand would be some sort of violation if I'm not mistaken).
Basically, colors can't be copyrighted (trademarked is different but that's business stuff and I'm 100% sure you're not doing that).

Yep. You are right.
@FVI. Whenever if someone tried to make a plugin that does using your similar textures without permission, the moderators will suspend it due to copyright.
