Pan Am used their 747 for 21 years, before they ceased operations in December 4, 1991.
Their 747s had an accident, one in 1977, the Tenerife (North) Airport Disaster, is the deadliest aviation accidents in history, killing 583 people, only 61 people survived, all in Pan Am Flight 1736, and in 1988, Pan Am Flight 103, the 747 exploded in Lockerbie, Scotland, killing all 259 people on board, and 11 killed in the ground, and leads to their bankruptcy, and ceased operations in December 4, 1991. ... Pan Am had 25 747s, 18 747-100, and 7 747-200.
