How does freight train work?

I made a freight train route hoping to ease the traffic from the industrial zone to the residential and commercial zone. But even though there is graphic representation of a train running, but when I tap on the freight depot, it tells me that no one is using it. I also observed that cars don't turn into the freight depot service road and the trains somehow only goes in one direction even though there are tracks for 2 way traffic. Any idea what is wrong?

Go to settings and lower traffic % and or turn off rush hour traffic.

There wont be proper stuff unless devs do or some legend writes a lua plugin and does the dev's job

Sounds like the dev is sloppy and not doing his/her work properly.
