TheoTown

I found about Theo Town quite recently and was instantly hit by a wave of nostalgia and memories of me playing the game as a kid on my grandparents computer... Then I realized that the game had only been made in 2019. Yet I remember all the assets of Theo Town perfectly from my childhood. I'm making this post to ask the community about the history of this game and where its assets are from. The game I remember playing on my grandparents computer was very similar to Theo town although it was much more complex in trade and systems. I do not remember what the game was called, all I know is that it shared all the same assets as Theo Town.

The game isn't from 2019? Some specific buildings might be inspired by other games, but all of them have been drawn specifically for TheoTown.

It's the planes that confirmed my suspicions because as a kid in 2014-15 I was obsessed with building airports in that game and I looked at the pixely planes hundreds of times and the planes in Theo Town are the EXACT same models. It's a shame Theo Town doesn't have as great systems as that other game did. I remember being able to make railways that would send uranium to the powerplant to be able to power it.

Do you mean SimCity 2000 by chance? It has some similarities.

I looked it up and it definitely wasn't. It had the same trees as Theo town too.

...are you talking about OpenTTD? The artstyles are completely different
