How do you build airports?

Hello,
I'm a rookie and have a question. What's the best way to go about building an airport? Do I start with the tower first or the airfield? Does it need to be connected to a road at all? I'm not sure where to start.

You can build it anyway you want... and I believe only the Terminal needs a road connection.

Yah there's need of connecting roads with terminals, unless uber and highway connection so people can get there

I think you will be clearer on building an airport after you understand how airports work, like what runways are, what taxiways are and so on. That is what I am doing. But I think there might be an easier way, just find some airports on the map and get some inspiration from them.

Make sure you have heaps of cash .... I started my first airport and ran out pretty fast.
