But we already have Google Plus

Barely anybody uses Good plus

And Discord is getting popular recently, a replacement for Skype and Teamspeak

Tell that to the 70+ people in the community.

If you wanna see the TheoTown forum dead, join it.
If not, stay here.

It's because the Discord server will get more people that the forums.
So it'll be harder to get assistance to those who prefer being on the forum.

Finally, no, I won't join it.

People can use more than one website to share TheoTown stuff...

Discord is designed to chat

This forum is designed to chat/post problems/show plug-ins ect

To all the people wondering what this server is trying to accomplish, this server is meant to provide a service like the forum in a chat setting. This means a different, slightly​ more relaxed environment. If you've ever been in a chatroom before, you would understand the difference. The server isn't trying to <enroach>encroach on the forum, only to act as a different​ medium of communication. While the forum (and Google+ for that matter) are very good for plugin showcase and asking questions about TheoTown, the Discord server is geared towards nonchalant chat about TheoTown, or anything else really (also voice chat, but that's not really the focus).

Also, if you're wondering what's there, there are separate text channels for general chat, suggestions for the server, and more! I have established the text channels, and general rules, but as this server (hopefully) grows, I want to take user feedback and suggestions! This server can be whatever the community wants it to be. Whether that means it is active or desolate, I want this to truly be a community server. And to all of you considering joining, I encourage you! If you don't like it, you can leave. No harm no foul.

Tl;dr we aren't going to steal from the forum, we promise.

Basically what he's saying is that the forum is good for showcasing and suggesting stuff and Discord is better for direct chat.
