I don't get the system of city points and in my opinion getting tanks by that has no sense
For example I have 140,000 inhabitants and I got "big continent" rank yet
It's to little for that

Richer inhabitants get you more point than poorer one. You also earn points for solving disasters.

Huh simple
But it's looking strange when you get rank "big country" with 150,000 inhabitants

For this smaller tanks it's ok
But "country" rank with 100,000 inhabitants
In my opinion the highest rank could be got with more than 1,000,000 inhabitants

I agree,
It's really weird haing a Megapolis with less than 100k Residents

So I think it's too easy to get those higher ranks and game can become boring
but may or may not

Ok, 100,000 habitants may could be unachievable for smaller maps so maybe some changes in unblocking?

There's literally 50+ ranks
Getting megapolis took me 4h by the way

See? so keep with this.
And again, you didnt want to wait for so long to get necessary things, like the small HS, do you?
Im 99% sure if this suggestion will be added, getting ranks will be more than 100% harder, then the small HS or Coal plant for example will be at the 40/50th rank or worse, which means waiting for WEEKS or even MONTHS of gameplay before you finally get it.

So maybe first 10 ranks took for unlocking and they could be easy to got but rest raanks without things to unlock could be harder to got, likes small country, galaxy etc.
