Can I create barriers between highway sides?

I've been adding highways to my towns, but sometimes (if there are existing roads crossing over the highway) there's no barrier between the two sides of the highway. Even if I remove the connecting roads, there's still a gap in the barrier. Cars are doing u-turns on my highways!

How do I add a barrier in between to stop the U-turns? Thanks.

And a similar question: can I change the lane markings on roads? There are a couple of junctions that I'd like to make right turn only, but can't figure out a way.

What you should do is not to join both sides of the motorway whatsoever. When not joined, vehicles will not u-turn and switch over to the other side.

If you don't want to build a bridge over the existing road, then bulldoze the road in the two tiles where the highway will go through. Then build the highway through the area. You may then connect the road to one side of the highway, then the other.
