What are the consequences of not having a cemetery?

Title. So far, I found exactly.....none. Few buildings got a RIP symbol above them, but the city is still functioning and growing.
Why would I spend money on cemeteries if those people can take care of their loved ones themselves?

I think its a bug. When people die the population should decrease as punishment. Maybe Death is just a bit powerless as of now, yet.
Maybe if too much people die and there is no cemetery, citizens will abandon the city until you build one. Would you live next to a decomposing corpse?

I agree. It's useless like this, literally nobody cares about having a dead man in their house right now.

So having dead people unburied causes people to riot?
Interesting. I guess people can't stand the stench of corpses anyway that they riot so the no smell of death in the air...

Yes, people become unhappy when dead bodies aren't removed.
