Good morning
As some of you may know, I have a small YouTube channel with videos that use background music. I recently found a site that generates songs and thought it might be useful to me. I've read the terms of use for my version though, and it says I can't use it for commercial purposes, and that's where my question comes in.
My videos consist of tutorials that always use plugins in the store, and in the store you need diamonds to acquire plugins, which are kind of a kind of digital currency. Is the specified purpose considered a commercial purpose?

Re: Commercial use question
If ur YouTube channel generates revenue through advertising, sponsorships, or affiliates, the use of that generated music could fall into the category of "commercial use", unless it's royalty free. But u need to check the license of the AI page that is generating the music, if it uses music from record labels, etc., it is more complex, since there is no way to determine which songs the AI used to be trained, but there can be problems if it has too much in common with an already registered song.
But the plugins would have nothing to do with it.. Diamonds can be obtained for free, and in fact the steam version does not use diamonds at all. So it's totally unrelated.
Another topic would be if Lobby included generated AI music in game, since TT is a commercial use, there, a hypothetical restriction would apply, but in your case it has nothing to do with it.

Re: Commercial use question
So I understood if I don't monetize the video, everything should be fine. So that's good since I don't!ArthurJ22 wrote: ↑16 Jun 2024, 19:17If ur YouTube channel generates revenue through advertising, sponsorships, or affiliates, the use of that generated music could fall into the category of "commercial use", unless it's royalty free. Regarding the generator creating a "plagiarized" song, I don't think that's a problem as I tried it and it looks quite good.
By the way, since apparently the plugins in the store have nothing to do with the issue of commercial use, would it be ok if I made a video with my selection of the best plugins?
