How to install
Download the .plugin, .ttplugin or .zip file and move it into the plugins folder of your TheoTown game folder:
  • Android - The game folder is located at Android/data/info.flowersoft.theotown.theotown/files which can also be accessed on the device itself by using Google's file explorer
  • iOS - The game folder is accessible as a virtual folder called "TheoTown" via iTunes after connecting the device. On the device itself you can use the Files app to access that virtual folder.
  • Desktop - The game data is stored in /Users/YourUsername/TheoTown
Another way is to navigate to the region view in the game->open game menu->File manager->plugins where you can import plugins manually by using the import function. After making changes you have to restart the game to see an effect.

Be careful with installing plugins manually. See this notice on the potential dangers of installing untrusted plugins.

Starting out on making plugins

#1

Post by ThaineXylon »

Hello, this is (technically) my first post on this forum. As the title says, I am starting out... As well as posting on a forum for the first time (technically.)

And for my first plugin, here's a statue of Rimuru in a 2x2 grid. With the day, night and the original frames attached.

...These are just the images so far... I still haven't figured out the back-end code (if that's the right term) for this. And not only I'm starting out in making a plugin for the first time... But also using the forum for the first time...

While still not being made into an actual plugin for now, I'd like to see and hear some feedback and... If this is okay? I've read the part on the copyright on plugins with the understanding of "until you got permission, you can't just take any licensed works and make it into a plugin without it."

But then again, there's AdmiralCarl's Bikini Bottom Pack and a Luffy (from One Piece by Eiichiro Oda) statue by Jefri a.l that I got the other day for my region, and it's still there to this day (I mean the plugins are still in the store)...

So, I'm left confused. Am I on the verge of infringing copyright or is it okay?

With that being said, thanks in advance for the feedback :)

I don't think you are. From my understanding, the copyright system here only works for plugins that have stolen textures. For example, directly copy-pasting textures from another game (city building/anyother type) and turning it into a plugin.

You, AdmiralCarl and Jefri did not copy-paste textures, your plugins have actual input by yourselves.
I hope this much helps!

Anyone is free to correct me if I'm wrong.
