Favourite Tactical Shooter Games!
Can include: Stealth, squad-commanding, realism (1-4 shots usually kill you), entry tactics (rapelling, fast-roping, breaching and clearing, and both linear and non-linear (free-roam) worlds/levels.
Please include name of game, platform (PC or console-- and if console, name it), date of release (if available), and brief description if you don't mind (Preferred).
Hopefully we can all find out about games we never played/heard of!
Mine are:
*SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs (Released August 27, 2002 for the PlayStation 2)
SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs was the first tactical shooter I had ever played. I loved it. You played as a fireteam leader, and had the ability to order your squad to do various tasks in a real-time, third-person environment, such as breach and clear rooms, hide for ambushes, escort you to different points on the map either guns blazing, or silently, and much more. It was, and still is one of the greatest games I've ever known.
*Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 (Released March 18, 2008 for the PlayStation 3)
This tactical first-person shooter had a much more linear campaign, but I loved it none the less. Again, you played the role of a fireteam leader in a 3 man squad, however this time you were part of an international special operations unit that was tasked with ridding the world of terrorist baddies. This game also allowed you to order your team around, but in a much more limited way. I must say though that the thing I loved most about this game was the expansive character customization. I can't go into too much detail as to how awesome it was, or else I would never finish this post, but if you're curious, either buy the game yourself, or find videos of it on YouTube. Beautiful game.
Those are just two of my all time favourite tactical shooters.
If you guys got any to share, feel free to post!
(Also, you don't need to make your descriptions as long as mine, heheh.)

Re: Favourite Tactical Shooter Games!
Battlefield 4, which came out in 2013. I play it on my Xbox One. Battlefield is a game with big, 64 person servers that divides the players on each team into squads of five people each. Each squad has a squad leader which can give orders, like which objective to attack. This game features some "realistic" physics like bullet velocity and destroyable buildings.
